Matching Program
The program participates The San Francisco Matching Program (SF Match). The Ophthalmology Residency Matching Program (OMP) established by the Association of University of Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) coordinates the PGY-2 appointments for the ophthalmology residency program though the SF Match Central Application Service (CAS). The CAS is mandatory for all applicants to all ophthalmology residency programs. The CAS then distributes the standardized applications to residency programs.
The SF Match supplements the PGY-1 matching services of the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Since the timetable for the PGY-2 match and the PGY-1 match is tight, applicants apply and interview for PGY-1 and PGY-2 positions at the same time.
Complete details and a timetable for the matching process is available via the following:

National Residency Matching Program (NRMP)
More information about the Matching Program can be found on the ACGME and Freida websites.
